Guess what today is...

It’s the blog’s first birthday!

Thank you to everyone who has contributed a post (or posts), linked to our blog from their site, read the blog, or shared it with others.

These days, the blog averages more than 1500 unique visitors a month (meaning that if you check the blog 6 times a month from your computer, you are counted as one “unique visitor”).

The bulk of our visitors come from the United States, Brazil, and Europe, but we also have regular visitors from Angola, Argentina, Australia, Azerbaijan, Canada, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Madagascar, Mexico, Nepal, New Zealand, Peru, Russia, South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, and many more!

Our three most popular posts have been the 2007 FICA Conference in Bahia review, the FICA-Chicago Mestre Pastinha/Zumbi weekend wrap-up, and T Baba’s visit to Grupo Acupe in Indianapolis.

That being said, the blog is a great place to advertise your event, share pictures of your group, share journal articles about capoeira, and get to know other capoeira groups and capoeiristas.

We welcome all angoleir@s from all over the world and all groups to participate.

Here’s looking forward to another productive and kick ass (thank you, Mr. Norris) 365 days!
